Tanya, Dental Assistant

Twelve years in. Here for the part where people feel taken care of. Born and raised in Seattle, Washington. Moved to Austin five years ago and never looked back. She didn’t grow up dreaming about dentistry, and she’ll tell you that herself. There was no calling, no childhood moment in a dental chair that set the whole thing in motion. She was exploring her options after high school when a friend mentioned she was doing it. Tanya decided to jump in, and to her own surprise, she ended up loving it. Twelve years later, she’s still here. What kept her was the part she never anticipated: the work turned out to be genuinely rewarding. She could see the impact she was having, patient by patient, appointment by appointment. Giving back stopped feeling like a job description and started feeling like the point. More than a decade in operatories has taught her the details that separate a visit people dread from one they don’t mind at all. The pacing. The tone. Knowing when someone needs a moment before you begin. What drew her to Glint was how dialed in the patient care is here. She wanted to be part of a team that treats that as the standard rather than the exception, and she’s glad she found one. Ask her what the job actually comes down to, and the answer is simple. Helping people feel seen, heard, and cared for.
